Context

  • The Client : Shivani IVF, a long-standing client specializing in IVF technology.

  • Project : Designing a portfolio website for Labcare - a brand under Shivani which is a family of IoT devices specifically designed for the IVF industry.

Context

  • The Client : Shivani IVF, a long-standing client specializing in IVF technology.

  • Project : Designing a portfolio website for Labcare - a brand under Shivani which is a family of IoT devices specifically designed for the IVF industry.

  • Tool used to build website : WordPress

Brief

  • To build a website which is different from a typical medical centric websites.

  • The website will have 5 different menu items : Product, Distributor, News Letter and Customer.


Process

  • Mapping / Content Hierarchy : Started with mapping, understanding types of users that would be interacting and their journey/expectation.

  • Competitor Analysis : Looking at competitor's websites, understanding how and in what way they are sharing information about their products.


  • Feasibility : Sitting with the developer to understand the WordPress and what all is feasible.

  • Moodboard : Making mood-board and brainstorming a theme.

  • Product Research : Because I had previously done a project with the client, I didn't have do any additional product research, I already knew a lot about how they work.


Outcome

  • Created a visual identity that balances science with empathy, making a technical product feel approachable and trustworthy.

  • Established a clear information hierarchy that helps users quickly understand what the product does, why it's needed, and who it serves.


  • Designed a calm, minimal visual system using controlled typography, spacing, and layout to communicate precision, reliability, and professionalism.


  • Simplified complex product messaging into digestible sections, reducing cognitive load and making the offering easier to evaluate for both technical and non-technical audiences.


  • Developed a consistent tone of voice that reflects care, responsibility, and expertise, aligned with the emotional nature of IVF services.


  • Delivered a responsive, scalable layout structure that supports future content expansion without sacrificing clarity or flow.


  • Created a unified brand experience where every design decision, from color palette to microcopy, reinforces the core values of accuracy, accountability, and trust.

Critical Reflection

  • Technical Support Limitations : Limited in-house experience with WordPress meant technical issues took longer to resolve, extending the timeline unnecessarily.


  • Template Constraints: The platform required working within a pre-made template, restricting customization and creative flexibility. A different platform would have saved time, effort, and cost.


  • Content Density: The site currently feels text-heavy. There is room to refine and simplify the content for clearer communication and better readability.


  • Placeholder Visuals: AI-generated images intended as temporary references were used in the final build, reducing perceived professionalism and weakening the brand’s tone of seriousness.


  • Layout Inconsistencies: Some alignment and spacing issues remain due to template limitations, affecting the overall polish and visual consistency of the site.
